Occupation
Pete taught in public schools for 5 years; 2 years in Bandon. He is the former owner of Schooner Creek Boatworks, a custom wooden boat building company in Portland, Oregon, and is founding partner and present owner of Mother’s Natural Grocery in Bandon, Oregon.

Graduated from the University of Oregon with a B.S. degree in Education.

Civic and Public Affairs
Pete was elected to the CCEC Board in 2004, is a member of the Bandon Chamber of Commerce and was elected to the Board of Greater Bandon Parks and Recreation in 1999, serving as chairman for the organization for 2 years.

Personal
Married for 10 years, Pete has 5 step-children and 5 grandchildren. As a child, he sailed with his family on a 71-foot schooner for 13 months through the South Pacific. In his life journey, he also worked as an assistant Game Warden in Valdez, Alaska for a summer, built custom log houses for a year and worked with his crew at Schooner Creek to build the Kamanu, a commercial catamaran located and operating in Kialua-Kona, Hawaii. He has traveled extensively throughout Guatemala and many parts of Central America and enjoys kayaking on the south coast of Oregon.
