This year, the official 82nd Annual Meeting of the Members of the Coos-Curry Electric Cooperative Inc. is Thursday, June 25, 2020 at 8:30 a.m. The meeting will be held at the Coos-Curry Electric Cooperative headquarters located at 43050 Highway 101, Port Orford. Election results will be announced during this meeting.
Your household received a ballot packet in the mail. It included the envelopes you need to cast your vote by mail, 2020 candidate biographies, and articles of incorporation and bylaw changes.
There will be two board positions selected by the membership in this year’s election. Each member is entitled to cast one vote for the candidate of their choice for each board position. Board members will be elected from Southern District 1 & 2 At-Large (Brookings/Harbor area); and District 4 (Port Orford/Langlois).
There are also several proposed changes to the Coos-Curry Electric Cooperative’s articles of incorporation and bylaws on this year's ballot. Proposed amendments include the authority to provide broadband internet service, allowing members to vote electronically and immediately retiring, on a discounted basis, capital credits owed to a member in bankruptcy to satisfy that member’s debt to the cooperative. All of the proposed amendments to the articles of incorporation and bylaws are available on the CCEC’s website at www.ccec.coop.
Remember, to count in this election, your ballot must have been received at the address on the return mailing envelope by June 23, 2020. Ballots in unsigned envelopes or that are received after June 23, 2020, will not be counted.
